RNIB - helping blind and partially sighted people.
Every day another 100 people will start to lose their sight.
RNIB is the leading UK charity offering practical support & information to anyone with a sight problem. We campaign to eliminate avoidable sight loss and support research into eye health.
The RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind) approached the AOP (Association of Optometrists) to do a sponsored abseil down Centre Point to raise money on their behalf. As employees of the AOP both Jennie and I decided to meet the challenge.
We will need to raise £500 and wondered whether you would help us raise the money. You can donate as much or as little as you like as it all helps to raise our target so please give up your Saturday and watch us abseil down Centre Point at 1:30pm.
We hope to rely on you all if not for us perhaps for UK's leading charity which supports anyone with a sight problem.
Helen says.
"I know what it is like to lose your sight as I lost mine in 1987 when skinheads decided to throw ammonia at my eyes, luckily for me I regained my sight after 6 weeks so please give what you can for a worthwhile cause".
