RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.

The RNLI also works to promote sea and beach safety.

On average, the RNLI rescues 21 people - every day!

On a personal note, as a keen diver, the RNLI are like the 5th emergency service (move over AA) and many lifeboats stations are full of records of divers being rescued.
