Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit RSA Liverpool's JustGiving page.

Financial Control/Financial Systems/Reconciliations and PL Project Team will be walking in excess of 300 miles on Friday 28th May 2010 in support of the Marina Dalglish Appeal.

The Marina Dalglish Appeal reached it's original target of £1.5m in 2007 and set up an Oncology Centre in Aintree Hospital. The Oncology Centre provides the ideal environment for patients receiving chemotherapy, in addition to this, it also provides a number of holistic therapies, including reiki, a hairdressing service and supportive care.

The next stage of the Marina Dalglish appeal is to build a £5m radiotherapy centre. The centre will provide radiotherapy for Breast Cancer patients, but in addition to this, lung and brain cancer patients will also be treated here. Currently brain cancer patients have to go to Sheffield (!!!!!) to receive their treatment - the new centre will have a corridor that will link the Walton Centre directly to the radiotheraphy centre.

The charity only employs 1 full member of staff and has minimal expenses. It is an amazing charity, that supports people, through a very challenging period of their lives.
