Cycle to Cannes 2009 · 5 March 2009 ·

Cycle to Cannes is a grant making charity. We currently raise funds for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, The Sarah Matheson Trust, Article 25, Tom's Trust and Land Aid. Selected one-off grants to charities supported by our fundraisers are also made.

Story

In 2009 Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners will enter a team of four cyclists for the Cycle2Cannes event. Richard Rogers is a patron of the charity and the practice has supported the ride for the last three years.

Cycle to Cannes is an annual 6-day 1500km cycling relay endurance event. Held in the last throws of winter, the weather can be bitter as we pass through northern France and the vineyards around Reims. It's not uncommon for water bottles to freeze, snow to fall, or for thick fog to surround the peloton for a couple of days. Only as we near the warmer climate around the Mediterranean do the jackets come off!

We are raising money for five core charities: The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, The Sarah Matheson Trust, Article 25, The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust and Land Aid. We also try and support additional charities when funds are available. Since 2006 we have given in excess of £500,000 to good causes.

Please support us by giving generously. Regardless of whether the cyclists are seasoned roadies or have simply taken up cycling to complete this event - everyone will find this a monumental challenge.
