Story
"I used to work in a bank when I was younger. To me, it doesn't matter whether it's raining or the sun is shining or whatever: as long as I'm riding a bike I know I'm the luckiest guy in the world" - Mark Cavendish
Taking inspiration from one of Britain's most successful cyclists and Olympic silver-medalist Mark Cavendish, I'll be taking a day off from the bank to suffer a 100km endurance ride through London and the surrounding hills, all in the aid of charity.
Wheels for Change is an annual fundraising cycling challenge, led by Barclays colleagues to raise money for charity. This year, Wheels for Change is raising money for the Prince’s Trust, who specifically focus their support on 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed, struggling at school or at risk of exclusion. By supporting Wheels for Change and the Prince's Trust, we are able to help transform disadvantaged young lives, supporting the next generation to build stronger futures for themselves and their families, and to turn their luck around.
Any support you can give to this worthy cause would be fantastic and will make a huge difference to the great work being performed by the Prince's Trust. It will also make my very sore legs (and other parts) feel a lot better on the finish line!
And remember...donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
