<p>We all know someone who has had cancer. For me it was my Dad who died too early at the&nbsp;age of 58</p> <p>In his memory I've decided to trek to Machu Picchu in the Peruvian Andes for Barts and the London Charity next year&nbsp;- specifically to fundraise for the Cancer Centre. I am hoping that this will help others who are suffering from this dreadful disease&nbsp;and aid cancer research.</p> <p>I am also doing this to support my friend Sam who was treated&nbsp;at St Barts&nbsp;for leukaemia&nbsp;and is&nbsp;now in remission and&nbsp;who is doing this trek.</p> <p>On a personal level this is a huge personal challenge. Some years ago I was diagnosed with an extrememly virulent Reactive Arthritis, the result of which was that for many months I could only walk a short distance with the aid of crutches.
