Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

As many people know, I'm not the most athletic person in the world and the thought of me running down the road is a laugh. But I've been convinced to change my tune and now I'll be running a half marathon on 23rd March.

I'll  be running in aid of Spinal Research. This charity isn't very well known but it means a lot to my close friend and housemate, Will. 11 years ago, Will's dad was in a car accident and paralysed from the waist down. It was a very difficult time for the whole family but after meeting Will's dad, I could see the journey that he's gone through and how this charity has helped him and his family.

As well as this, at the start of December my boyfriend fractured his neck whilst playing rugby. He is recovering very well now but it hit home how much these injuries can happen. He was very lucky but others in similar situations might not be.

This is why I'm running for Spinal Research. To help raise money for research and to raise awareness of spinal cord injuries.

Any donation counts, whether it big or small it will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
