Some of you will know that I am running the Bristol Half Marathon...and more of you will know that I am disorganised enough to leave fundraising for it until the last minute!

I am raising money for Fareshare, a charity that I volunteer for in Bristol. Fareshare seeks to address food waste and food poverty in the Bristol area by redistributing surplus fit-for-purpose food from supermarkets to community organisations that work with disadvantaged people.

Most of you will have suffered a food rant or two (or three or four...!) from me so I will endeavour to not launch into another one here, suffice to say that our crazy food system causes thousands of tonnes of perfectly good in-date food to be landfilled each year due to packaging errors, discontinued lines etc. while simultaneously over 4 million people in the UK cannot afford a healthy diet.

 

By supporting Fareshare and the work they do, you are helping to protect the environment by reducing the amount of food going to landfill, while ensuring that more people have access to safe, good quality food.

 

So thank you for your pennies and your pounds, they are very much appreciated :-) :-) :-)

 

Anyway, I must go off to train (I am not very organised about that either, though really rather excited about this 13 mile run/walk/crawl!)
