Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Rachel House in Tororo, Uganda was established in memory of Rachel Davies, who was tragically killed in December 2008 aged 18.

The house is divided in two parts. The first is now home to four girls who were orphaned by AIDS and the second is a secure centre and meeting place for the Undugo Family Organisation that provides support to different tribes of widows and orphaned children. To date over 100 people have benefitted.

Funds for the project were originally raised by Rachel's grandparents. Since then, we, and others, have organised various events to keep it going:

On 7th October 2011, to mark Rachel's 21st birthday, we held an event in Whitefield - we set a target of £2,100 and raised £2,324.50.

On 25/05/12, my colleague Martin will run the Manchester Marathon for Rachel House - his JustGiving page is here.

On June 1 2012, I will be carrying the olympic torch in Ormskirk.
