Story
After running the London marathon for the first time last year, I was lucky enough to achieve a time that has given me an automatic place for this year’s marathon on Sunday 21st April 2013.
The training schedule is tough, but the most rewarding part about it is being able to help raise money for incredible charities who really make a difference. This year I have chosen to run to support Elizabeth's Legacy of Hope (ELOH).
ELOH is a small charity that my close friend is a Trustee of. It was set up by Sarah Hope and Victoria Bacon, twin sisters whose mother, Elizabeth, was run over by a London bus in April 2007. Sarah's two year old daughter, Pollyanna lost her right leg below the knee and Sarah's left leg was badly damaged in the incident. This gave Sarah and Victoria the inspiration to build a charity which could help thousands of amputee children all around the world, including those who would not be fortunate enough to have access to the kind of healthcare and treatment provided here in the UK.
The charity gives limbless children in developing countries a bright and active future, by providing much needed low-cost prosthetics and funding for further research into artificial limbs. ELOH also helps to fund vital operations along with educational, social and psychological assistance.
Any donation you can make to support this special charity would be hugely appreciated, no matter how big or small.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.
