Thank you everyone that has sponsored so far. I completed the 10 mile Great South Run in 1 hour 47 minutes which I am very pleased with. My legs have finally recovered and stopped aching. It was quite a hot day and the last two miles were a struggle as it was along the pier and the wind was against us so I was very pleased to see the finish line. Thanks to everyone that has not only donated but also those gave lots of encouragement and support before the run as I was very nervous about entering the race and am very relieved it's over, but it has definatley worth while to raise so much money. The charity I am fundraising for is the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St.Peters in Chertsey. When my partner's nephew was born on 10th of Spetember 2008 at Guildford Hospital he was very poorly due to suffereing from a bleed whilst he was in the womb. When he was delivered he was taken away immediately to be rescusitated as he only had a very faint heartbeat. Once he was stable he was transferred straight to St Peters Hospital, where he was cared for in a specialist NICU cot, which costs in the region of 80,000. Thanks to their excellent care and specialist equipment Ollie is now a gorgeous happy baby who has just celebrated his first birthday.
So please donate and help raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St.Peter's Hospital in Chertsey. Your donations will go towards additional and replacement specialist equipment which the Neonata lUnit requires so they can continue to provide the highest standard of intensive care for babies born in Surrey. Which in this case saved Ollie's live.
