He was a founder member of Hemsby Inshore Rescue Service. This is a volunteer lifeboat service that does not receive funding from the RNLI. It covers a 12 mile radius from its base on Hemsby Beach and also 125 miles of the Norfolk Broads. It was this service that fulfilled Grandad's wishes for a Sea Burial at North Scroby Buoy off the Norfolk Coast.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">My Uncle is also a member of the service and went to Sea with them to lay my Grandfather to rest. During the transit to North Scroby, the Coxswain told him that funds are decreasing and it is increasingly difficult to meet fuelling, training and maintenance costs.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">On the back of this conversation I have decided to complete a Sponsored Skydive this Fathers Day, 19<sup>th</sup> June 2011 with all proceeds going to HIRS.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">This is an important organisation on the Norfolk Coast and the Crew have attended over 13,000 Coastguard emergency calls over its 35 years existence.</span></span></p>
