Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Shortly after Beatrice was born she was diagnosed with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF) and Oesophageal Atresia (OA). These are rare congenital conditions that affect one in every 3,500 babies. What this basically means is that the tube from her mouth to her stomach was not connected and her windpipe had an extra connection on it. She therefore had a major operation to plumb her up correctly! She is now a happy, healthy, one year old.
The TOFS charity has helped us to come to terms with Beatrice's condition and give us practical advice on managing the condition. They have also put us in touch with other parents who are in the same position.
So as a thank-you to the TOFS charity I have entered the Jane Tomlinson 's Pennine Lancashire 10km on Sunday 11th July 2010 in Blackburn. I have not done any exercise since I found out I was pregnant with Beatrice so this is going to be a HUGE challenge for me!!!
So please can you help me to say thank-you by sponsoring me however much you can so that TOFS can continue to offer support to families of children born with TOF/OA.
