I am the Director of Ape Action Africa and it is a privilege to share my life with gorillas like Nkan Daniel, Shufai and Afangui.

Some of you will know that I had planned to run the Loch Ness marathon on 29 September but our lovely little girl Afangui became seriously ill in the week before the marathon. I had to cancel my trip home to be with her and she tragically died after a short illness. She was one of the most gentle, loving gorillas it has been my pleasure to share my life with so I am running the Broadway Marathon in her memory.

To those of you who have already sponsored me for the Loch Ness marathon, I promise I will run a marathon for your sponsor money.

This is my first marathon and training in the heat and humidity of Cameroon is gruelling....so please give me some encouragement and give what you can for Afangui and her friends.

November has a special place in our hearts because it is the anniversay of the death of our friend and director, Avi Sivan, so I will also be running the marathon in his memory.
