Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients, and those important to them, in West Kent and East Sussex. As a local charity not part of the NHS we need to raise £10m each year to ensure our services can continue.

Story

As many of you may know I am a huge fan of the bicycle and have cycled many miles on wheels of 23" diameter but...... wheels of 16" diameter is another challenge altogether, so when Catherine and Phil mentioned their aim I thought I could do my bit. I am planning on riding 56miles from Dumfries to Kilmarnock on a Brompton!!.

Both Susan and Chris (Catherine's mother and brother) were very special people who touched my life in ways that I am aware of and probably in ways that I am not so aware. Susan was always interested to hear of my exploits on the bike. She and Chris both saw the value of exercise and showed great determination to keep going. My challenge remains small in comparison. Following the fantastic generosity of people who supported my Giant Pilates event where I raised £1275 for Hospice in the Weald, I now hope to support Phil and his team reach their ambitious target. This is no small feat,, but Hospice provided support to the whole Suart family in their time of need. Other families will need support in the future.

Thankyou in advance for your support - every little helps, to coin a phrase
