I have decided to run the stafford half marathon to raise funds and awareness for the charity that has provided ongoing, long term bereavement support to us.</p> <p>The Bereaved Parent support is part of the Care for the Family charity which looks to support all aspects of family life. The network run a telephone befriending scheme as well as events through the year for bereaved parents to share their stories and gain support.</p> <p>There are 17000 newly bereaved parents every year in the uk and the bereaved parents network would love to reach out to more of these families.</p> <p>We became befrienders a year ago, hoping to comfort others through the comfort we received.&nbsp;</p> <p>For more information on the group and the other work care for the family do, watch the video.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
