Story

My Dad (Michael Parkinson) went into the LGI at the end of June 2011 for heart surgery. Following what turned out to be a major operation and many weeks in intensive care, Dad sadly passed away on the 12th September 2011.

Shortly after returning home from Dad's funeral it was brought to my attention that Heart Research UK, based in Leeds, were looking for runners in the 2012 London Marathon to raise money to help their charity. Some things are meant to be - so here I am training to run the 26.2 miles on April 22nd in memory of Dad and to raise money to help the many others who may suffer from heart disease.

"Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity."
