Dear all
Thank you for making it this far on the road to donation! Andy and I hope you will go all the way and help justify our cycling madness by giving something towards the Alzheimer's Society. Andy and I HAVE gone all the way - on our bicycles - from Land's End to John O'Groats! It's a 1400 km / 875 mile journey and we did it in 7 days of riding - at least 200 km / 125 miles a day. We started on 8th June and finishing on 16th June (including 2 rest days). It was a huge physical and mental challenge - particularly as we were operating on tight time limits each day - so knowing that our efforts help raise money for a cause close to our hearts was a huge motivation and made giving up unthinkable.
My mum died of Alzheimer's. It is a terrible disease and one that is not only tragic for the sufferer but also for those who care about them and for them. There can be few things worse than watching the slow disappearance of person you love as their brain is eaten up by the disease. The Alzheimer's Society provides support and advice for dementia sufferers and their carers, as well funding research into the cause, care, cure and prevention of dementia.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and won't be sold on and you won't receive unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Please make a donation and help two intrepid cyclists feel even more proud of their achievements (if that's possible).
Thank you
