Story
Hi Everyone. I DID IT!! I completed 40 nights in our garden shed for Lent. At the start it was cold and dark, and after a while I didn't always want to go out there but Mum and Dad encouraged me and I stuck it out. Now I really miss it!!
Lots of people have sponsored me so I've raised quite a bit of money for the Crisis Centre which is brilliant. Radio Bristol heard about it and they came and interviewed me 'live from the shed'. And I was on BBC News online and in the Evening Post.
If you would like to donate, please do. And THANK YOU.
From Rachel
Hello People. This is why I'm sleeping in our garden shed:
I wanted to give up something for Lent so I chose to give up sleeping in the house. I wasn't allowed in a tent, but my Mum and Dad agreed on the shed at the bottom of our garden. It has a tin roof which makes alot of noise in the rain! There's no electricity so I use a wind up lantern.
I decided to raise money for other people who don't get to sleep in a proper bed. All the money you donate will go to the Crisis Centre which works with homeless people in Bristol.
So far I've been in the shed every night in Lent except when I had a temperature. Sometimes it's been below freezing in the night, but I take a hot water bottle and I've been OK.
One night I heard something scratching at the door.. I was a bit frightened. When I looked out, there was a rabbit!
By the end I will have slept outside for 40 nights. If you sponsor me 20p a night, that would be £8, or 50p a night makes £20. Please support me and give what you can.
Thank you and sleep well! Love from Rachel
