Like so many people I believe we should take care of the planet and the animals we share it with. Children instantly recognise the Asian elephant as an exciting feat of nature, but tragically this huge and magnificent creature is on track to disappear within their life time.
I am passionate about Elephant Family's plan to save them.
Registered in 2002 this small and lean little charity has built up
relationships with NGOs, politicians and local communities across
Asia. We work together to reconnect the forests, and save their
ancient migratory routes. If the forests remain disconnected elephant
herds become marooned and starve. In desperation they wander into
villages, destroy crops and pose a deadly threat to villagers.
Their number one threat is loss of habitat. By saving the Asian elephants habitat, an entire eco-system is saved. (See photos).
