This year I turn 40, I am a happy and healthy mum, partner, daughter, friend and teacher. When my son started school in September 2013, I hoped to expand my network of mummy friends, which I did. Amongst this fabulous group I met Donna Dunn, mum to Emily Clark (Remission Possible) and 3 other wonderful children. In fact Donna's youngest daughter is in a class with my son. 

I have watched Donna go through Emily diagnosis twice, bone marrow transplant and subsequent treatment and scares! When Emily found out she couldn't run the Cardiff Half, she asked Donna to run on her behalf. Donna then asked me and a few other mums if we were up for the challenge and I said Yes! 

Training has been tough, I have ached, laughed and cried. We have trained in dark, cold, wet, sun and everything in between. Through it all I have been driven by the fact that nothing I have gone through has compared to what Emily, Donna and the rest of their family has endured in the past 2 years. 

I will complete this half marathon for Look Good Feel Better a charity close to Emily's heart and at her request. I am extremely honoured to know this wonderful family and am delighted Emily has chosen me to represent a charity so important to her. Emily I am a better person for knowing you. x
