Story
Hi! if you've made it this far hopefully it means you're planning to donate some money to the cause (whether that's the cause of Alzheimer's research or the cause of making me look like a baldy freak I don't really mind), so thanks!
As you may (or may not, it's ok if you didn't) know, my paternal grandmother suffered with Alzheimer's from before I was born, so I never knew her (I met her a few times, but as she didn't have a clue who my family were I'm not sure that any of us really benefited from it). I strongly suspect that my dad was going the same way before he died. This does not instill me with confidence for my own future.
If you want to know more about it check out alzheimers.org.uk
The plan is that if this page raises £1000 (or more) by the 21st of May (this year) I will shave my head. I'm toying with the idea of letting whoever makes the biggest donation do the shaving, if they're in Cardiff on the day that is. Feedback is welcome on that. If you can't be here on the day then I'm sure we can sort something else, like a signed photo (ok, maybe not a signed photo. How about some cake? Talk to me, we'll work it out).
So be generous. It's a good cause. If there's anything else you want to know then ask.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails (if they do then let me know, I know some people, we'll sort them out). Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - it raises more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Everyone's a winner. That's the truth.
So please dig deep and donate now.
