Katya lives in Polotsk, Belarus which has a lively Jewish community.&nbsp; </span></p> <p><span style="color: #e511ee;">They have recently received a new Torah scroll, the first for many years, donated by World Jewish Relief.</span></p> <p><span style="color: #e511ee;">The community is supported by substantial donations of humanitarian aid helping them with the basics in life.</span></p> <p><span style="color: #e511ee;">Through the Bar and Bat Mitzvah Twinning project, children from this under resourced community and children from the UK have the opportunity to learn about each others lives and Jewish experiences. </span></p> <p><span style="color: #e511ee;">Although the twinning project is based on one person, the whole community benefits from it. </span></p> <p><span style="color: #e511ee;">My Bat Mitzvah may happen on the same day as Katya's.
