I am one of a group of students and staff from the department of Architecture & Built Environment at the University of Nottingham and we've joined together to raise money to build a nursery school in the rural village of Lephepane, in the Letsitele Valley, in Limpopo South Africa. It is one of the poorest, least developed parts of the country, with high levels of unemployment.

Your donation will help provide a bright, clean and safe environment for teaching basic skills, play and music to village children from under one year to seven years old. It will also provide employment for the local women who teach in the créche, cook meals, wipe noses and sing and play with the kids.

We pride ourselves on spending as much of our fundraising locally in the communities around the villages we build in - we have no big salaries or expensive offices to fund. Over 90% of funds raised last year were spent on materials, tools, subcontracted works and project logistics associated with daily transport to the site. Students pay for their own flights and accommodation.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
