2016 is the year that CGI, The Prince's Trust and I turned 40! To mark the anniversaries, CGI has organised a charity walk. I'm taking part in my 40/40/40/10 challenge on the 14th September to raise money for the brilliant Prince's Trust to support others who may have had a challenging start to life.
Personally, I have battled with pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes and now Type2 diabetes for the last 10 years and earlier this year I was unfortunate to be diagnosed with pneumonia which took me out of the Palace to Palace 2016 Cycle ride - I could barely leave the house without complete and utter breathlessness. But I'm not one to admit defeat and getting active to fight these trials is one of the reasons I've accepted the challenge.
I'm a strong believer in helping the underdog, the person who needs a chance to transform their life to get back up on their feet (for me that's literally). I've set myself a slightly different challenge to the one I had expected (which is more manageable under recovery) but all for this very worthwhile cause.
Thanks for your support.
