Students from the University of Exeter Cornwall campus were deeply affected by the Haiti Earthquake and decided to organise an event now known as Rally4Haiti.
Rally for is an event organised entirely by students at the . The aim is to raise in excess of £10,000 for the victims of the earthquake that has devastated the Republic of Haiti. We will be working closely with ShelterBox, who are an international relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. The rally will consist of participants, who will complete a 370km (230 miles) endurance circuit of the Cornish coastline in a series of relay legs, using only man-power (jogging, swimming, cycling, walking and kayaking) to complete the rally. Each group will be provided with a bottle of Betty Stoggs, which must be transferred at each transition station in order to advance to the next leg. The rally will start at Gyllyngvase beach, at 0800 on Saturday May 8th and will run continuously until the finish is reached at Front Bar, , estimated to be early evening Sunday May 9th. In the week prior to the rally, a series of events both on and off Tremough Campus will take place in order to boost the awareness amongst students and the community.
