This page is created to manage the donations made to CNCF- our charity of choice for the Mongol Rally 2011 (team page: http://www.2cars4tools.com).
Our participation in the Rally means we're going to drive 10,000 miles, from Goodwood, UK to Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia. This drive will take us through 14 countries in 4 weeks. Everything we might want or need we have to supply and take care of ourselves.
Why are we doing this, you might ask...
We want to save a bit of the world. Because on the other side of the globe, in Mongolia, they are not as blessed and fortunate as we are here.
Due to the destitute economical situation in Mongolia thousands of children are forced to live on the streets. This exposes them to economical and sexual exploitation. And to make matters worse, in winter time they have to flee to the city sewers, because temperatures easily drop to -45°C!
Our charity of choice, Christina Noble Childrens Foundation (CNCF), has many projects in Mongolia to save these underpriviliged children. With our participation in the Rally we want to generate a lot of attention to the good work CNCF does for the homeless children.
To make sure their good work can be continued, funds need to be raised. We are doing are part, with participating in the Rally and putting in hundreds of manhours to make it all happen.
