Training Update

03/10/09  10 miles successfully completed. With the help of my running partner Greg (20 years my junior I may add) we did 10 miles today and I feel great. After last week's cramps at midnight I may be regretting these words later. No more big runs for me until the race. Cycling to work looks dodgy this week too - due to weather turning and darker nights.

Thanks to all my latest sponsors and my regular blog reader; the mother-in -law.

26/09/09 LEGS OF QUICKSILVER Well, not quite but today's run went much better - 13.8Km (8.6miles) - and only sore calves to show for it. I am going for 16km (10miles) this weekend; which will be my last big run before the race.

21/09/09 LEAD LEGS were experienced today as I built up to 8 km. The rest of the body was willing so 12km is in my sights next weekend.

18/09/09 I have been going to work on my bike every day so am building my stamina up but need to get some running miles done. We have lots of visitors this weekend which means lots of food which means I will have to get out on the road!

Having eased myself into running again by doing the Evening Mail Fun Run early this year I am going for the Half Marathon in Brum.

My younger daughter Natalie was born with only her left hand. The charity Reach, both nationally and regionally have been very supportive to us as parents and promise to continue to support Natalie and our family for as long as Natalie needs it.  They are small as charities go so fundraising is a very important part of the money generation.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
