Story

The Ramsay Round - 63 miles over 23 Munros with 28000 feet of ascent. Non-stop with a target time of 30 hours.

Why are we doing this? Simple really; we are all former rugby players who love hill walking. Although I must admit that this is no ordinary hill walk and it is definitely going to be "emotional"!!

Raising funds for such a wonderful charity as the Bill McLaren Foundation will make all the pain worthwhile. The amazing work that all those involved with the "Foundation" do is fantastic and promoting rugby and its values to youngsters is something that we are happy to endorse.

This walk will be the prelude to the main fundraising event that I am organising to raise funds for the Bill McLaren Foundation as well as for Help for Heroes.

The "Calcutta Cup Heroes" dinner will take place in Edinburgh on Friday 3rd February 2012 on the eve of next years 6 Nations Calcutta Cup match - details to follow nearer the time.

At 06:00hrs on Wednesday 24th August myself and my friend Andy from the British Army will set off from the Glen Nevis Youth Hostel to climb the first of the 23 Munros (Ben Nevis). Our route will then take us over the Munros in the Grey Corries, Loch Treig and the Mamores montain ranges. With us finally returning to the youth hostel a little bit jaded, but hopefully after 30 hours.

Andy and I will be supported by our good friend Grant on the walk. Grant will have the unenviable task of walking in to certain points along the route to keep us supplied with food and water. We cannot thank him enough for volunteering to do this most crucial role.

Please support our effort by donating.

Thanks

Stuart, Andy and Grant.
