Eight intrepid Rangers fans and staff face an arduous 200km journey through the frozen wilds of Norway with husky dog teams to raise funds for the Rangers Charity Foundation. They will cross mountainous terrain north of the Arctic Circle, frozen lakes, pack ice and snow. They will also face temperatures of -30°C and extreme weather conditions in a true test of endurance.
Each team member will be responsible for the feeding and care of their own husky team during the week long challenge and will receive expert training in their handling, as well as wilderness survival tips.
Funds raised from the 2011 Arctic Challenge will help the Rangers Charity Foundation continue its work with charity partners UNICEF and The Prostate Cancer Charity reconstructing and equipping seven life-saving health centres in Togo, West Africa and funding awareness raising materials and The Prostate Cancer Charity's helpline.
Good luck to all the 2011 participants and thank you for supporting the team!
