Story

Hi Everyone,

Mummy told me that she was giving up tea for 40 days from 5th March to 19th April, because she wanted to help Deb, our neighbour and friend raise money for Myeloma UK.  I thought she was crazy because she loves tea and is grumpy when she does not drink it.

I asked Mummy why not give up something she does not really like as that would be easy, but she said that it had to be a challenge to really count and so that people would sponsor her.

I thought about this and thought I too would like to help, the thing I love the most is sweets and chocolates, so that's what I decided to give up for 40 long days.  I am nearly at the end now and in this time I have been to birthday parties and been given chocolate but can promise I have not touched any of it. It has been so hard!   So please please sponsor me to make it all count.

Message from Mummy -

Hi everyone our amazing friend Deb was diagnosed with Myeloma an incurable cancer of the blood plasma  in 2009 at just 34. Deb has two equally amazing children, one of who is in the same class as Hawa.

Since her diagnosis she has undergone chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant  and is now in partial remission.  Deb has not let this diagnosis take over her life but now fund raises tirelessly for Myeloma UK having raised over  £70,000 for the charity.  We hope that any money rasied will go some way in helping to fund research to help find a cure.   So please please sponsor Hawa, however small the donation every penny counts - it really is an amazing cause.

This is just one of the Challenges that Deb has set for herself in her '40Challegesb440', she is an amazing inspirational person and to read more about her and her challenges please follow this link.

Hawa has been particularly amazing and really found the challenge hard.  Ahmed and I are both so proud that she has stuck to it.  Well done Hawa!

Thank you for supporting Deb & Hawa xxxx
