As someone who works within the fitness industry, I am no stranger to a physical challenge, however, being confronted with the challege of climbing a mountain I must admit even I am feeling a little overwhelemed.

For most physical challenges, there is an element of being able to prepare and ready yourself with proper training and conditioning, however, when you are battling with things like sever altitude sickness, extreme weather conditions and minmal sanitary and living conditions, there is very little you can do in the way of preparation (unless I go and live with Bear Grylls for the weekend).

This challenge is being organised by the Manchester United Foundation. Whether you are a Manchester United fan or not, it is easy to recognise the fantastic work this charity does for underprivelaged children. The Foundation manages the Club’s charity partners, Francis House, The Christie and UNICEF, and provides opportunities for children to better themselves and there prospects through education, health care and personal development.
