The Jon Egging Trust supports vulnerable and under-confident young people who are struggling to engage at school. They work with students for up to three years, supporting them to build aspiration and self-belief, and to reengage with learning and maximise their potential.

Story

I am currently the student in charge of the University of London Air Squadron (ULAS) Charities Committee. This year, ULAS have set themselves an ambitious target of £10,000. In order to achieve this target, each member is striving to raise £100 each!

This year, ULAS is fundraising for the Jon Egging Trust. Jon Egging was a red arrows pilot who died tragically in an accident during Bournmouth Air Festival in 2011. The Jon Egging trust, set up by his wife, Emma Egging, creates partnerships and develops opportunities for young people who are under-achieving in the formal education system. It will link them with inspirational people and environments connected to aviation.

This year, I ran 25miles of the Pathfinders March in order to raise money for this worthy cause. I am also taking part in the trans-Atlantic row, which is 4700km. This takes place over summer and has to be completed by August.
