1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. At Prostate Cancer UK, we’re giving every man the power to navigate it. With over £100 million invested in research, treatment, and care, we’re building a future where prostate cancer no longer cuts men’s lives short. Together, we can help save men’s lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I really hope by the end of this piece you want to help me hit target by sponsoring me.

Why am I running for The Prostate Cancer Charity? Well, women's charities get high visibility and high support and other charities can be overlooked. So, I am supporting men everywhere. We all have important men in our lives, Fathers, Sons, Brothers, Uncles ... so I'm running for them all.

Why am I running at all? I've never done a competitive race in my life and never imagined I would, but having just got back to running after 18 months of injury I really wanted something to re-build my confidence in my foot. It's going to be long, hard, probably a bit 'boring' in the sense that training for this is an awful lot of miles alone doing the same thing over and over and over.

Anyway, I wanted to set myself an ambitious goal to encourage and inspire others to also think in terms of greatness. Think big, train hard and get results.

So, I really hope you will think big too, be generous and sponsor me. My friend Tony says I'd probably be closer to my sponsorship target if I said I was running it naked - but I'm not - so I hope naked-running isn't one of your sponsorship criteria!

Thank you so much - Together we can make a real difference!
