Story
As you probably know, I always like to get out on my bike in the summer in aid of one of EJF's campaigns, and this year its to raise money for the oceans.
I'll be riding from Richmond in London to Portsmouth, but with a twist. This time we'll be leaving at midnight and cycling through the night to arrive in Portsmouth at dawn.
I've never ridden at night before, except tootling around London or Paris, so slightly nervous about how this will work.
If you can support my efforts to take on the darkness and ride 80 miles you will be helping EJF's valuable work ending illegal pirate fishing in Sierra Leone and Liberia.
I went to Sierra Leone for the first time this year to see the work EJF does and was very moved by how a relatively small organisation can have such an impact in one of the world's poorest countries.
Coastal communities who are so dependent on fish for their food and livelihoods are starting to see an increase in fish size and volume of catches as a result of EJF's work driving the trawlers away. With more support EJF can expand the succesfull work in Sierra Leone to help more coastal communities suffering at the hands of illegal pirate trawlers.
