Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the Carten due to personal reasons. However, I am still hoping to complete the cycle and will keep you updated with when I do it.
In May, I will be cycling 100 miles in one day to raise as much money as possible for Velindre Cancer Centre.
Six months ago, I hadn't even heard of Velindre. Then some one very close to me was diagnosed with Cancer. Since then, Velindre has been there for them every step of the way providing support, treatment and advice (and apparently very scrummy food!). The staff at Velindre really do know their patients, and offer as much comfort as possible to people going through the most difficult times.
My cycling history is not very extensive. In fact, the furthest I am likely to cycle is to work and back, which is less than a 6 mile journey all round, and I have an 8 hour break in the middle!
Clearly, I am going to have to do a lot of training and preparation to be able to cycle from Cardiff to Tenby in a day, and any donation that I receive in the meantime will definitely be an incentive to keep going.
Let's all stick our middle finger up to cancer and raise money to support those going through it!
