Hello lovely people!
I have said for a while that 2010 was going to be my Marathon year - so here it is!
I have been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to run for The Children’s Trust, which is a national charity which does fantastic work with children who have multiple disabilities and complex health needs.
The Trust offers a unique combination of skills and experience in meeting the complex needs of children with profound disabilities.
Their service offers:
- - Short, medium and long term residential care and therapy
- - Residential rehabilitation for children with an acquired brain injury
- - Community-based rehabilitation for children returning to home/school after a brain injury
- - Special education for pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities
- - Short breaks (either at their site in Tadworth or in the family home)
- - Transitional care for children who are dependent on a ventilator or complex tracheostomy
- - Hospice/ palliative care
The specialist services they provide come at a cost which is not fully met by statutory sources, so they rely on voluntary donations to meet the full cost...... which is where you kind people come in!
Some of you have already taken the 'marathon challenge' and know that running 26.2 miles is no mean feat, and I am sure that those of you that haven't, can still appreciate that this is a very long way to run! This is not only a personal challenge that I would love to achieve, but also an opportunity for me to raise money for a very good cause.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for your support!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now!
