Hi Everyone,

As you may know Caring Matters Now is a charity very close to my families heart. My daughter Jasmine was born with a rare birthmark covering much of her body, called Congenital Melanocytic Neavis (CMN).

When she was born the birthmarks on her head were black and bleeding, her stomach and back were covered in a large brown birthmark and her body was covered with hundreds of satellite birthmarks, the local doctors had never come across the condition and could not give us a clear prognosis. Luckily for Jasmine, one of the consultants found Doctor Kinsler's details on the internet and contacted her at Great Ormond Street Hospital and ever since Jasmine has been under her care and we visit regularly.

CMN Syndrome is a rare condition and comes with an increased risk of cancer and in some cases can result in neurological problems and premature fatalities.

Caring Matters Now is a charity set up to support those with CMN and their families. Since Jasmine and her twin were born in 2009 they have offered us tremendous support and given us a wealth of vital information. They help raise awareness of the condition and are the main source of funding for the pioneering research Dr. Kinsler is currently carrying out at Great Ormond Street.
