I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Firstly I thought I would just tell you about myself. I was born 10 week’s early (sorry mum). When I was one I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. This affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system which makes it hard to breathe and digest food. I was a young carer from about 6 years old as my mum suffered from mental health problems, which was hard. I was 9 when I went into Care. Secondary school was difficult as I hardly ever went to primary school. Being a New Year 7 student finding school hard as i was bullied and just having moved into another foster placement had its challenges. Last November I was nominated by my social worker and support worker to be a part of 'Journey of a Lifetime.'   When I found out I had been chosen to go for an interview I was sooo happy but also very nervous as there was still a huge chance I wouldn’t get picked.  I was very doubtful that I would be successful when they said they would call back 3 weeks later to let us know who would be offered a place. Four weeks past and I still heard nothing so I thought that I was unsuccessful. Then I looked in my letterbox and there was the letter.  I opened it very slow and when I saw the congratulations I just screamed and cried. I ran with it in my hand like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" to tell my support workers that I had been offered a place.  We all just started jumping and screaming:D As part of this journey, I have been asked to fundraise at least £650 to help towards me going as they have to raise over £5,500 per person to go . As its NOT government/tax paid for trip.   i need to raise this by the 1st may 2012 :D Our next Journey of a Lifetime will be a month long trip right across South America, from Peru on the Pacific coast, through Bolivia, across the Andes to Paraguay and then to the Atlantic beaches of Brazil. We will journey by road, rail, raft, perhaps even horseback and more in search of remains of the lost civilisation of the Incas. Helping them to grow in confidence and self-esteem and giving them the ability to take control of their future. There will be different types of fundraising i will be doing 4th april, cake bake, Car wash and different easter events...20th april im doing a Fun run/walk dressed in fancy dress:D going to look silly but thats all the fun :D  Soo please help me raise some money to go, no matter how small. I will be sooo eternally grateful for everyone who supports me.
