Lets kick Cancer's Butt!

Race for Life Herne Bay 2014 · 29 June 2014 ·
Last year, my Grandad was diagnosed with Cancer. He is my idol, my rock and my lifeline and without him the world seemed a very dark and lonely place.
Luckily, my Grandad is now in remission and has beat Cancer - although the journey is far from over. Not only did he, Tony Yarlett, show courage, bravery and sheer determination - he kept fighting for me and for our family. That to me, is legendary.
Unfortunately, not everyone in our family and our friends were as lucky as my Grandad. My Auntie, sadly lost her best friend, Lisa, to Cancer in 2011. Lisa left behind three young girls, a husband who adored her. and her parents. There lives will never be the same anymore.
My Grandma lost her mother, Nanny Tin'tin, to Breast Cancer and although this was before I was born - Cancer stopped me from meeting my Great Grandmother, who (I am told) had a beautiful soul and heart.
It doesn't stop there unfortunately. I have recently lost my Great Grandad, Harold John Yarlett, to Liver, Kidney and Bowel Cancer this year. He was taken too soon and will be greatfully missed.
Therefore, I'll be running (if not walking) this race carrying each and everyone of them in my heart. This race will not bring our loved ones back nor stop Cancer from affecting those we love and cherish - but it will help spread awareness and give Cancer Research a little more resource to help find a cure.
Please sponsor me, even if you can only spare a pound. That one pound will help to save another persons life.
