Welcome to my Just Giving page dedicated to helping me meet my target of raising £5,000 for Childline, a charity very close to my heart.

You may already know I donate 50p from every copy of my CD to the charity and often perform operatic street performances to fundraise for the charity across the UK. I have been raising money for Childline since October 2008 with the release of my CD called Cantare, followed up by my musicals CD in sumer 2009 called Memory. You can find out more at www.rebeccanewman.net. At the time of starting this page I am over halfway towards my target with over £2,500 raised.

This summer I am travelling across the UK bringing operatic arias, classic musicals songs and folk to the general public with my outdoor street concerts. Dates of these performances are on my website. I have been street performing like this since I was at university, in 2005. Every year the concept has grown to become what it is today.

Following an incident where part of my equipment was stolen, causing me to have to stop performing, I decided to set up this page as many local people were upset about the theft and wanted to donate money to help me make up for how much I lost on that day.
