Glencoe Mountain Rescue has been providing a free rescue service in the Glencoe area since 1961. Run entirely by volunteers and hugely reliant on donations for funding, the rescue service extends to mountains, rivers, lochs, caves and the sea across North Argyll and on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

Story

This challenge is part of a Triathlon of events which are being undertaken in memory of our friends involved in the tragic avalanche in Glencoe, Scotland on January 19th.

We want to thank the mountain rescue team for their incredible work, often going out in risky conditions to come to the aid of people in difficulty. Thanks to their efforts, one of our friends was rescued from the mountain and continues to amaze us with her recovery from a severe head injury.

Sadly four people lost their lives including a very dear friend of mine, who was always one for taking on a challenge. She has inspired many of us to get out and try something new, or push ourselves to the next level.

This is a team effort and some of our friends have already successfully run the Edinburgh half marathon and next weekend take on the challenge of the Great North Swim.

Thanks for your support.
