Story
The Challenge?
Two teams the Red-Heads and What-a-Relief are raising money for RedR-IHE by competing in the humanitarian themed "Disaster Relief Challenge" on September 16&17.
Activities will include refugee camp logistics and management, team development, medical, mental and engineering challenges with a focus on water needs for refugees.
(see www.redr.org/london/events/allYear/challenge.htm).
The Second Challenge?
Some of the teams' members will also be putting themselves through a timed off-road triathlon, starting in Cardiff and ending at Pen-y-fan, South Wales' highest mountain...
- 1.5km of swimming at Maindy Swimming Pool, Cardiff
- 60km of uphill cycling from Cardiff's Bute Park up the Taff trail, through Merthyr Tydfil to the Storey Alms at the head of the valley
- 6km of running, walking and crawling up (and down!) the 886m Pen-y-fan!
