London - Monaco Cycle Ride · 18 September 2016 to 27 September 2016 ·

The Blue Marine Foundation is a conservation charity founded in 2010. We work to protect and restore life in the ocean. We do this through securing effective protection of the ocean, tackling overfishing and damaging practices, supporting sustainable use of the sea, and restoring vital ecosystems.

Story

On the 18th September, I will be taking part in the first leg of the London-Monaco cycle ride in aid of the Blue Marine Foundation. 134km to Folkestone on the cheapest bike Halfords would sell me. I will be joined on my journey by cycling's super-domestique, Michael Burdus. I've been puffing my way around Richmond Park at 6am for the past few months and risking my life on a daily commute to the City of London. Soon it will be over, when we leave everything on the long road to Folkestone.

It may prove to be the end of my cycling career (unlikely to be seen as a terminal loss to the sport) but hopefully it will have been a glorious one. Raising money for a fantastic cause that protects marine life for future generations. BLUE is working to solve the crisis in the oceans through providing innovative solutions to overfishing and enabling the creation of marine reserves.

If you could spare a few pounds to make the endeavour worthwhile, it would be most appreciated!
