Pembury to Paris · 21 September 2016

Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients, and those important to them, in West Kent and East Sussex. As a local charity not part of the NHS we need to raise £10m each year to ensure our services can continue.

Story

Julie Bedus and Rex Butcher, known as Team BeBut (we couldn’t use our Christian names could we!!!!!) are cycling from Pembury, in Kent, to Paris, in September in support of The Hospice in the Weald, a distance of 280 miles over four days (fingers crossed).

Through our own personal experiences with our families, we have been greatly touched by the fantastic work done by Hospice’s to assist and comfort people towards the end of their lives, and also provide much needed support to their families, as we are sure most of you will also have experienced, either directly, or indirectly.

Without donations from the public, these wonderful organisations, that we have come to rely on, could not continue to do their incredible work. Therefore anything you can donate will be a great help, not only to the Hospice, but also to increase our resolve to make it to Paris, in spite of our painful bodies, especially our bottoms!!!

Update: 27/09/2016

We did it! Just over 290 miles cycled in 4 days - and we loved every minute of it. Yes, it was tough, but we had great fun doing it and we have raised a lot of money which will go a long way to supporting an amazing charity which does a fantastic job in our community.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us - you are all amazing!

Julie and Rex.
