Story
Myself, Rhianne and Shelley are walking from Sandbanks to Hengistbury Head (approx 10 miles) to raise money for Clic Sargent.
My mum first met Charlotte when she came to work with her team, she is the most eternally optimistic person you could wish to meet.
Charlotte left them and married Luke and started a family of her own. She had a little boy called Louis followed quickly by Ryan.
Ryan is the bravest of boys. Shortly after moving to Spain to start a new life, at the tender age of 5 months Ryan was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia and admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital. AML can affect anyone, but is very rare in childhood, only 50 children a year are diagnosed with this awful disease.
At 12 months old Ryan had undergone chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and experimental treatment, sadly despite all this the leukaemia returned and the options ran out, Ryan was admitted to Naomis House where he spent the short time remaining.
Unfortunately on July 10th Ryan lost his fight and passed away in his mum's arms.
We will be doing a sponsored walk on Saturday 21st September from Sandbanks to Hengistbury head. We will be raising money for charities that support childhood cancer and Clic Sergant who have worked to support Ryans family during this time.
