Story

I am planning to cycle approximately 1000 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats on my own without any support, carrying only what I can fit on my bike. The plan is for this to be completed in 13 days, meaning the average day's journey is around 77 miles.

I'll be keeping a blog of my trip here: http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/rhodrilejog.

Some of you who know me may realise that this kind of thing is my idea of fun, but I'm also doing it for a good cause.

The Link Family and Community Centre is a charity based in Newtownards in Northern Ireland and is one that I already support. The Link works with vulnerable and at risk individuals, many of whom experience deprivation, exclusion or loneliness. The Link does this by providing a range of facilities, programmes and support for young people; older people; children and young parents; migrant workers; people experiencing chronic addiction to alcohol; and churches and community groups wishing to engage in community and good relations work. Their work is underpinned by community development principles and their mission is to seek to accept and value individuals as they are, enabling them to recognise their self worth and encouraging them to achieve their full potential.

More info on the Link can be found on their website: http://www.thelinkcentre.org/

If you would like to support me in my masochism, please dig deep and donate. I am funding this trip entirely myself and all money raised will go to the Link to help in their valuable community work.

Thanks very much for your generosity.
