I was inspired by a small note pinned to the notice board of the gym that I visit far too infrequently.  Oxfam were asking for volunteers to run the Brighton Marathon.  Before I thought twice about it I entered my first marathon on 12 Feb with just 9 weeks to go until race day and with no more than 3 miles in one go under my (large) belt in the last 15 years.  A week later I did my first (slow) 10 miles - its amazing what you can do when determined!  Hoping my lungs and legs make it to the day.
