Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

Every week a family in the UK hears the devastating words ‘your child has a rare cancer’. For families facing a diagnosis of retinoblastoma, life changes in an instant. At CHECT, we offer lifelong emotional support, practical advice, and grants to support anyone affected by retinoblastoma.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I've always wanted to run the London Marathon but never had the desire, will or commitment to do so.  In fact when it comes to exercise I consider a brisk walk to the kitchen sufficient.  That all changed when I met a boy who developed cancer in both eyes, at birth. It does make you realise how lucky you are and that you should never take your health for granted or indeed the health of your children.  CHECT www.chect.org.uk has helped tremendously in supporting the boy's family during a very difficult time.  It is an organisation well worth your support and donation. They fund research, raise awareness and support families with day-to-day care. Help them with the fight against Retinoblastoma. Please dig deep and donate now. Many thanks.
