Reading Half Marathon 2012 · 1 April 2012 ·

Weldmar Hospicecare makes every moment matter for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, in their last twelve months. Our specialist compassionate care, given in patients' own homes and at our hospice, comes from doctors, nurses, counsellors and therapists, for patients and their loved ones.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Reading half marathon a few weeks after my 40th birthday, to prove that I can still be fit in my forties!!

During my training at the end of last year my father in law Phil fell ill with an aggressive form of cancer, and sadly deteriorated quickly, passing away in February this year. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed, not least by my kids who loved spending time with their Grandad.

Phil spent his last weeks being looked after in the Weldmar Hospice in Dorchester, and received fantastic care while he was there. The hospice needs donations to stay open, so I have decided to run and raise funds for the hospice.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
